College Resume as Poetry

Avoid loser words and drive that baby home

It’s hard to be concise. There’s so much to say about all those hours you devoted to your passions outside school. But conciseness is your new best friend. Embrace the movement of your words as you work and rework them down to their bare bones. Rules your resume should live by:

1) Start with your biggest hook. Tell us about your main activity or passion and use power words like: Facilitated, Developed, Created, Led.

2) End with another heavy hitter. Your open and your close should always knock it out of the park

3) Every item should show drive, action, creative thinking or leadership. Never use loser words like “participated”
